The 550 Maranello marked Ferrari's return to producing a front-engined V12 two-seat Berlinetta GT, a type of car they hadn't built since the 365 GTB/4 Daytona of the early '70s. Often referred to as the "modern Daytona", the 550 was a triumph - combining precise, lightweight steering, 50/50 weight distribution with the all-important 485bhp V12 and silky 6-speed manual gearbox - all clothed in the beautiful, subtle lines that define the understated 550. And 0-60 in 4.3 seconds and 199mph makes it fast by any generation's standards.
This lovely car was originally supplied by Maranello in October 1997, finished in Argento Nurburgring over a Blue leather interior. Since then it has been cared for as any Ferrari of this type should - regular servicing with the right people, including DK Engineering and Neal Lucas.
This car is ready for thousands of comfortable, glorious miles ahead - its hard to think of a GT car that beats the 550 Maranello in terms of value - a true old-school Ferrari conceptually, hugely powerful and engaging to drive - all for less than £100,000.
