CHASSIS NUMBER: 4904
Chassis 4904 was sold new in August 1971 to Mr. Mario Lo Turco. As a personal friend of Ferrucio Lamborghini, he took delivery directly from the factory. This was a privilege afforded only to very special customers.
The car was equipped with a Limited Slip Differential as a special order and was one of less than ten Miura SV’s to leave the factory with this option.
Mr. Lo Turco used this Miura until 1981, driving it on the twisty Sicilian roads for a mere 35,000 km. He then kept the car in his private collection from September 1981 for the next 30 years until legendary Lamborghini test driver Valentino Balboni introduced the car to the next owner.
Mr. Valentino Balboni knew Chassis 4904 very well and recalled many conversations with Mr. Lo Turco in the past regarding intricate details of the car. When the car was purchased by its subsequent owner in November 2011, Balboni was personally present in Sicily to load the car on the truck. The new owner decided not to restore the car but to keep it as-is to preserve its mesmerising originality.
The red and gold paint, the chassis, the engine (from the air filter covers to the exhaust) and the electric wiring are all totally original with a unique patina. The interior is completely original and untouched, featuring the unmistakable smell of the 70’s. Beyond ongoing maintenance for safety reasons the car is totally and completely original. The original wheels with period Pirelli CN12 tyres are mounted for exhibition purposes only.
The car comes with its original second ignition key set, tool set, owner's manual, original Sicilian Italian plates, “Libretto di Circolazione”, period insurance tags and road tax. Included in the paperwork is the original factory delivery certificate dated August 1971. Known as the “Sicilian Miura”, #4904 was inspected by FIVA in 2012 which granted the A/2 certification. The car is in perfect working order and ready to be enjoyed at all the great international events, both driving and static.
With two registered owners spanning the car’s life (Lo Turco and Andrej Friedman) this car has a totally unblemished history has recently enjoyed success in the most prestigious concours events including:
2013 - Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance – Third in Preservation Class
2016 - Concours d’Elegance Suisse – Best of Show
2018 - Geneva International Motor Show
2018 - Villa d’este – Second in Preservation Class
In addition this car has been the feature of several magazine articles including “Octane” Magazine’s “Miura at 50” March 2016 edition, in which it was the cover car for the Miura’s 50th Anniversary issue with in-depth test drive and coverage of #4904.
