Built in the Volkswagen factory at Wolfsburg, West Germany in late January 1966 and immediately shipped to the UK.
The beetle was sold by Devonshire Motors of Barnstable and first registered on 26th February 1966 to Mr. W J
Denner, the sub Post Master in Sticklepath, Barnstable. He owned the car until his death in 1988. During his
ownership Mr Denner never washed the car and only ever travelled to and from Barnstable Post office. FTT 206D
emerged from his garage covered in two inches of dirt and dust. It was driven from Barnstaple to Knaresborough, its
longest journey ever, where it was bought by a Mr Corne. The car was then cleaned, at that time the Beetle had only
covered a total of 33,695 miles and since then has only been driven a further 3000 miles. In 2004 FTT 206D travelled
to the Stamford Hall VW meeting and was entered in the concours where it came third in class. Miss Fiona Archibald
became only the 3rd owner of the car in 2015 and has made the odd trip to the Pub.
Points of interest - Original bill of sale and dealer tax disc holder still attached to
windscreen. Service history with original dealer stamps.
